Engineer (Civil) - Ballarat (VIC)

We are seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Ballarat office.

The Engineer shall assist with the delivery of high quality engineering master planning and design. To facilitate this delivery, the Engineer will undertake project engineering assignments for infrastructure and land development projects, including technical engineering advice, specifications and detailed planning to facilitate the effective management of projects. The Engineer will be involved in estate master planning, assist in co-ordination of engineering design work, checking plans, ensuring systems are followed, and liaison with councils and service authorities to facilitate approvals.

Ideally applicants will have a Degree in Civil Engineering with 4+ years’ experience within the industry, also experience in Construction Management and be proficient in AutoCAD and 12D software.

Specific tasks will be, but not limited to:

• Contribute to the development of concepts for road, drainage, sewer, and water infrastructure as required.
• Develop functional designs of required infrastructure under supervision of the senior engineer.
• Prepare detailed designs and computations for required infrastructure under supervision of the senior engineer.
• Liaise with the draftsperson to finalise engineering design plans.
• Ensure that final documentation for projects is in accordance with both client brief and statutory regulations and is
   compliant with QA standards, including the completion of required checklists and reviews.
• Prepare detailed submissions of plans and computations to authorities to facilitate approvals.
• Prepare construction schedules and quantities for tender documentation.
• Provide engineering services within project budgets and time schedules.
• Representation at meetings and presentations relative to assigned projects.
• Review Opportunities for Improvements and Quality Assurance issues to ensure amendments are taken to minimise risk.
• Overview specifications, tender and contract documentation and design reports for road, drainage, sewer and water
    infrastructure as required.
• Ensure safe and sustainable engineering concepts are developed and implemented.
