Description

Baw Baw Shire Council proposed a Structure Plan that detailed land to the northeast and east of Warragul Township be rezoned from Farming Zone (FZ) to Residential 1 Zone (R1Z) and Industrial 1 Zone (IN1Z) respectively. The existing 300 diameter Warragul North Trunk Sewer has insufficient capacity to service the proposed residential rezoning. The proposed industrial area to the east of Warragul Township is not serviced by sewer at this stage. Gippsland Water requested a study to plan for the provision of an adequately sized Trunk Sewer service to cater for proposed rezonings.

This study focused on the future residential catchment contributing to the Trunk Sewer allowing calculation of flows and pipe sizing. The future industrial area to the east of Warragul is to be serviced by a pump station and rising main. The study discusses five (5) scenarios for delivery of pumped flows to the existing Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Full hydraulic analysis and predicted costings were provided for all scenarios.
