Human Resource Assistant – P/T

Are you a current HR student or recent graduate ready to get your foot in the door and build a meaningful HR career?

This is more than an administrative role; it’s a front-row seat to the full employee lifecycle. Reporting to the HR Manager, you’ll gain hands-on experience in a fast-growing organisation where you can put theory into practice, learn from experienced professionals, and make a real contribution from day one. This role is initially a Part time role that has the potential to transition to a full time role in the future.

You’ll be supported by a friendly, collaborative HR team that’s invested in your development and success.

How you’ll make an impact:

You’ll be the engine room of our HR team, supporting a broad range of people-focused initiatives, including:

  • Onboarding & Induction: Help welcome new starters by preparing employment documentation, coordinating inductions, and helping deliver a smooth, welcoming onboarding experience.
  • HR Systems & Tech: Maintaining our HRIS, Learning Management System and SharePoint intranet, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
  • Employee Lifecycle Support: Assisting with employment contracts, maintaining digital employee records, monitoring the HR inbox, and responding to general HR queries.
  • Health, Wellbeing & Development: Supporting health and wellbeing initiatives, training programs, and professional development activities across the business.
  • Culture, Engagement & Community: Be a key player in our social calendar! You’ll help coordinate staff events and charity initiatives, from Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea to our annual Halloween party and team-building days.

About You

We aren’t looking for years of experience; we’re looking for potential, drive, curiosity and a great attitude.

  • Education: Currently studying or recently graduated with a degree in Human Resources or a related discipline
  • Tech Savvy: Comfortable using Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Canva, SharePoint, or HR systems is a bonus
  • Strong communication skills: Friendly, professional, outgoing, and confident engaging with people at all levels.
  • Organisation & attention to detail: Able to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and stay organised
