Utility Locators and Utility Surveyors – Malvern

We employ over 400 staff and have 13 offices across Victoria, New South Wales and Northern Territory.

Beveridge Williams is expanding its Subsurface Utility Investigation (SUI) capabilities into Victoria and is seeking experienced and motivated Utility Locators and Utility Surveyors to join our new Victorian department. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team from the ground up, with strong support from our established NSW operations

About the Role

You’ll be working on a variety of major infrastructure and development projects, using industry-leading technology to detect, map, and report on underground utilities. Your work will directly support design, construction, and safety outcomes across Victoria. You’ll also work alongside some of the most experienced utility surveyors and locators in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Subsurface Utility Investigations using Electromagnetic Locating Equipment and Ground Penetrating Radar
  • Conduct utility surveys in accordance with AS5488 standards (survey applicants)
  • Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and project managers internally within Beveridge Williams
  • Accurately record and document underground services, ensuring reports meet required quality standards
  • Ensure safety and quality standards are met on all projects

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in utility locating and/or utility surveys
  • CERTLOC Certification
  • Strong understanding of AS5488
  • Experience managing subcontractors (NDD and CCTV)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Surveying qualifications or experience (for surveyor applicants)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • GPR concrete scanning experience
  • Exposure to 3D Array GPR systems and post-processing software
  • Confined Space Accreditation
  • Traffic Control Accreditation
