Overview
The Mitchell’s Rise development, located in Leongatha, was completed in 2024. This project featured the delivery of 101 residential lots across 7 stages, with lot sizes ranging from 540m² to 1,333m².
The development included significant infrastructure works, such as the construction of a major VicRoads intersection, the revegetation of a prominent local waterway, and the creation of a dedicated drainage reserve.
Additionally, public infrastructure improvements were made to enhance both safety and aesthetic appeal. Street lighting was installed throughout the development, providing adequate illumination for roads and pedestrian pathways. Furthermore, reserve lighting was added to ensure key open spaces, including the drainage reserve and the new boardwalk, are safely accessible during the evening hours, contributing to the overall security and usability of the public areas.
The challenging topography of the site, especially in Stage 6, required the construction of retaining walls to create flat, usable residential lots. This ensured that the natural undulation of the land was accommodated while maximising the functional space for residents.
Work Undertaken
Mitchell’s Rise was the product of a coordinated effort from our multi-disciplinary team, encompassing engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, town planning, and project management divisions. Collaboration with specialist consultants helped ensure the development reflected the client’s vision while addressing environmental sensitivity and practical design considerations.
One of the main challenges in the project was the site’s terrain, which was successfully addressed by constructing retaining walls to facilitate a functional and visually appealing layout.
In terms of public infrastructure, street and reserve lighting were crucial additions that improved both safety and community engagement, allowing residents and visitors to enjoy the development’s public spaces throughout the day and evening. The integration of environmental features, such as the revegetated waterway and drainage reserve, further contributed to the development’s sustainability and long-term viability.
Mitchell’s Rise is a prime example of our ability to deliver high-quality, well-rounded residential projects by integrating practical infrastructure solutions with thoughtful environmental considerations.
