Overview
The Phillip Island Koala Conservation Reserve project aims to create a trail linkage through the reserve, closing a crucial gap in the island’s trail network for both the community and visitors. This trail will provide a safe connection for pedestrians and cyclists, linking them to existing trail infrastructure. It will offer opportunities to explore native bushland and observe Australian wildlife in their natural habitat.
The trail design will prioritize safety, maintenance, stakeholder directives, and environmental protection, while celebrating key natural and heritage features. The new trail will respect the cultural and environmental heritage of the area, ensuring minimal disturbance to existing vegetation and wildlife habitats, with animal welfare remaining a top priority.
