St Germain Town Centre

Overview

St Germain is a master planned community focused on the promotion of healthy living and demonstrates a best practice approach in landscape architecture and urban design. Working in collaboration with the Beveridge Williams team, which includes Planning, Urban Design, Water & Civil Engineering, the design approach of open spaces has enabled Landscape Architecture to be a leading driver in the staged delivery of streetscapes, wetlands, public open spaces and the Mixed-Use Retail Commercial precincts of the Town Centre. The design offers diversity in both the private and public realm while granting a cohesive sense of place for the community.

Play spaces offer both passive & active recreation opportunities for a range of ages & abilities, ensuring an intergenerational and ‘play for all’ experience is achieved.

Work Undertaken

A series of connected wetlands provide WSUD infrastructure and help to support and increase local biodiversity, whilst connecting to and extending existing and planned drainage systems along the Thompsons Road & Smiths Lane corridors. Pedestrian, shared paths and bicycle (on and off-road) amenities have been provided throughout the Masterplan to ensure pedestrian and bicycle connectivity and accessibility is given priority.
