Unity Park

Overview

HB Land purchased the site with an existing planning approval for subdivision with the intent of updating the subdivision design. Beveridge Williams collaborated with our client to reimagine the subdivision design, resulting in a market-responsive design.

Scope of Work

Beveridge Williams provided Town Planning, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Surveying, and Development Assessment services for the Unity Park project in Tarneit.

From the outset, we worked closely with our client and key authorities to manage a seamless approvals process. This included updating layout plans, securing all post-permit approvals and coordinating the biodiversity offset process to enable construction to commence in a short timeframe. We delivered a lot layout that was both functional and market-ready, balancing development yield with liveability.

Our Landscape Architecture team designed the local park and broader public realm elements to meet the needs of the growing community, with a focus on accessibility, amenity and long-term maintenance.

Central to the Unity Park Estate is the Everbloom Crescent Park. This 0.68ha. reserve balances active play opportunities with passive recreation and occupation opportunities. The custom proprietary play space enables play for all ages and abilities, incorporating timber materials against a bold colour palette. The central play unit allows for climbing, balancing and viewing, whilst also providing two separate slides. Swings, DDA carousels, steppers and balancing beams are scattered across the play space and amongst canopy trees. A smaller children’s play area with integrated stepping rocks, wetpour surfaces and a slide allows young children to occupy and enjoy the park safely.

Integrated planting and custom seating are provided throughout the play areas, allowing guardians a place of respite whilst still being connected to the play and lawn areas. The custom shelter’s artwork, with a steel frame and timber battens, references the nearby You Yangs landscape.

Our Survey services supported our client throughout the entire project, from completing initial site measurements through to the preparation of subdivision plans and the release of titles.

Our Development Assessment services included reviewing individual house plans for compliance with the estate’s design guidelines. Our purpose-built online portal provided a streamlined process for builders, resulting in a high level of engagement and efficient turnaround times. Our existing strong relationships with authorities were critical to the project’s success, and proactive communication and collaboration were imperative both internally and externally.
