Beveridge Williams was proud and excited to be offered the opportunity to work on the ambitious Growland development at Victoria Square, in Hopkins Street, Footscray.
Ultimately to comprise of six high-rise towers, the mixed-use development, with a substantial residential component, will become a striking landmark for this thriving suburb.
The development is being progressed in 3-stages and includes underground parking facilities, internal common property and a common property road accessible to the public. Our involvement with the site commenced more than five years ago. Construction of stage 1, comprising two towers with 454 apartments and seven commercial tenancies, is considerably advanced and is expected to be completed by early 2021.
Apart from defining the intricate subdivision layout, the project also comprised planning the common property layout and determining the owners corporations structures to ensure adequate functioning of the overall development.
A key requirement of the survey assignment was to guarantee rapid turn around of alterations to the plan of subdivision resulting from design amendments found necessary during the marketing and sales campaigns. Similarly, expertise in advising on the structuring of complex owners corporations subdivisions, navigating the subdivision approval process through the Council and managing the smooth passage of the resultant plans through the Land Registry office was also an imperative for the survey project.
Having previously undertaken similar site surveys in the Docklands, CBD and Southbank areas of Melbourne, the Beveridge Williams Melbourne Survey Team was well placed to explore new ideas and unique site specific solutions to adequately meet the challenging contractual requirements, and deliver the survey component of the project both efficiently and to the complete satisfaction of the client.
