Making it easy to create beautiful estates

The Beveridge Williams Design Assessment Panel serves as a vital link between developers, their purchasers, builders, architects and designers. Our team provides expert estate assessments across Australia’s east coast, evaluating each submitted plan for design compliance with the guidelines or covenant requirements set by developers and council statutory requirements.

We understand the complexities of the approval process, proactively identifying potential issues in plans and working closely with all parties to ensure smooth and timely approvals. Design compliance is an essential part of every development, and the Beveridge Williams Design Assessment Panel is here to make that process streamlined and effective.

With extensive experience in design and estate approvals, our team can seamlessly implement an existing set of design guidelines or collaborate with clients to develop requirements that bring their built-form vision to life. We take on the administrative responsibility of design assessments, allowing developers to focus on other aspects of their projects, with our team of experienced professionals managing the design compliance process.

Our Design Assessment services include both residential and commercial estates. The Beveridge Williams estate approvals team can:

Prepare design guidelines

  • Provide general advice around design principles to promote an engaging streetscape which works cohesively with the urban design, vision and aspirations for the project.
  • Consideration of any project requirements, provided by the developer or as outlined within relevant Council approval documentation
  • Prepare, review and finalise the Design Guidelines to the developer’s requested format, either a simple text document or a full marketing version.

Assess the individual designs

  • The design panel ensures design compliance with the guidelines / covenant requirements, through assessment of submitted house plans;
  • Discuss house design with purchaser / builder, providing feedback for items of non-compliance;
  • Maintain database of approval reports and on dwelling information statistics.

Conduct onsite compliance audits (QLD & VIC only as at 31.10.2024)

  • At the developer’s request, visitation of estates to identify areas of non-compliance from the design requirements;
  • Provide advice of suggested remedies to ensure built form and landscaping maintains consistency with the design guidelines / covenant requirements.

Online Portal for a Seamless Process

Our website contains a specific portal for design applications, making it a smooth and seamless process for lodging, assessment and issuing approvals. All applications are assessed via this portal, which provides application status information plus the ability to manage correspondence and resubmit applications with any required amendments until approval is granted.

Each estate has their own dedicated application page. Where no estate website is available to support resource information for builders and purchasers, storage of relevant documents can be hosted on the estates design portal.  Documents such as guidelines, building envelope plans, engineering and disclosures would be accessible by builders and purchases without the need for an account.

There’s also the added benefit of approval report generation for clients and developer access to their specific estate. This allows developers to quickly and easily obtain a snapshot of applications and approvals.
