Senior Traffic Engineer

Beveridge Williams is seeking an experienced Senior Traffic Engineer to join our team in Malvern. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a lead role in land development and infrastructure projects at a company renowned for its supportive, people-first culture. You will work with a small passionate, collaborative team to deliver innovative traffic engineering solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing key Beveridge Williams’ clients, local authorities, and industry stakeholders
  • Develop (or direct the development) of concept plans, and traffic signal plans for road and intersection infrastructure.
  • Prepare detailed traffic and transport impact assessments for various projects and recommend appropriate treatments or improvements.
  • Apply a safety-first lens for all users on all projects
  • Proactively manage traffic/transport risks at all stages of a project stages, balancing competing interests, such as those from other engineering disciplines, Authority approvals,  required infrastructure works etc.
  • Work closely with our planning, engineering and urban design teams to deliver a cohesive product that meets the clients needs and leads to best project outcomes
  • Prepare fee proposals, submissions, and tenders for new projects, ensuring competitive and comprehensive bids.
  • Mentor, guide, and support junior traffic engineers and other staff, fostering their development and growth

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering with 6+ years relevant industry experience (preferably within a engineering design consultancy environment)
  • Strong understanding of the traffic and transport landscape, with particular experience in land development and infrastructure fields.
  • Proven  project management experience, including effective record keeping, preparation of proposals, client and authority engagement.
  • Ability to undertake detailed assessments of projects to determine statutory traffic and transport requirements and assess the impacts of proposed developments.
  • Skilled in AutoCAD, AutoTurn MicroStation and SIDRA for design and analysis
  • Road Safety Auditor accreditation (preferred)
  • Registered Engineer or working towards it
  • Ability to be agile and adjust priorities to complete tasks and meet deadlines.
