Background
Beveridge Williams Miranda (formerly Watson Buchan) has been closely associated with this client for many years, a developer and builder with multiple construction projects across Sydney. As a result, the client’s relationship with Beveridge Williams is strong and there is a clear understanding between both parties regarding what is achievable.
The aim of this project was to create boutique apartments that stood out for their quality in an area already containing many high-end properties.
The client expected prompt service and professional guidance they could rely upon, with the works being undertaken in a timely manner and with a flexible approach.
Project Achievements
The site was challenging due to its soil type, narrow plot size, large building footprint and being flanked on either side by two bulky side-facing multi-unit apartment buildings. This required use of some improvised techniques at times required to supply a useful product.
Adopting various different survey practices and flexibility for timing, the calculations from plans and on-site setout works were key to being able to provide the information and marks needed to keep the job on track.
The development stretched over a 2-year period, with Beveridge Williams being involved from commencement, throughout construction and again at completion. Beveridge Williams worked on various aspects including the preparation of a preliminary strata plan, Plan of Redefinition, Construction Setout, Works as Executed, Final Check Survey & final strata plan for registration with NSW Land Registry Services. It was pleasing to see that the property won an award recently in the category of “Design – New Buildings Multiple Housing” at the Woollahra Design Excellence Awards 2019.
