Project Overview
Bakerland’s ‘Catalina Heights’ is a 50-lot rural residential subdivision on the outskirts of the Lethbridge township. The client’s vision was to create sought-after acre lots and a new community in the beautiful Golden Plains region.
Work Undertaken
Beveridge Williams was involved in this land development project from start to finish, including developing the indicative subdivision plan, securing a planning permit, and providing design and construction supervision. We also provided surveying services.
Due to the site’s flat terrain, the team faced challenges in managing stormwater. Through innovative design and close collaboration with the stormwater consultants and the engineers at Golden Plains Shire Council, the most economical solution was achieved — a combination of swale drains and pipes.
Some unexpected service conflicts were identified during construction, requiring rerouting of sections of the stormwater drainage infrastructure. The team’s responsiveness in obtaining the necessary details from the contractor, arranging additional survey work, locating services, and problem-solving to determine the best outcome for the project was second to none. Thanks to the strong relationship established with the Council engineers, the project team secured timely approval for the redesign and ordered materials early, ensuring the works did not impact the project’s critical path.
