Lakes Entrance ODP Review

Overview

Beveridge Williams was commissioned by East Gippsland Shire Council to conduct a review of their 2013 Outline Development Plan (ODP), which applies to the land known as the Lakes Entrance Northern Growth Area (LENGA). Council have experienced a number of challenges to its implementation over the past decade and to the timely and orderly development of the LENGA area.

Work Undertaken

Beveridge Williams was engaged to undertake a gap analysis and review of the ODP and to establish the unique set of constraints such as slope, hydrology and remnant native vegetation requiring conservation. We identified a number of areas in which the ODP in its current form could not be relied upon to achieve the broader strategic directions envisioned for the precinct and presented a number of recommended actions for the revision of the ODP to function as an effective guiding strategic document.

Our team continues to support Council in progressing further work and consultation for an updated ODP to guide future decision making in the precinct.
