Beveridge Williams, Traralgon, have thoroughly enjoyed been part of the development of the Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre, Traralgon, along with the regions new Performing Arts Centre.

The Aquatic Centre features five pools, including a new 50m pool built to FINA standards.

Our survey team have been part of the project for several years, providing survey and environmental services since inception.

We were initially engaged by the Latrobe City Council to provide detailed feature and level surveys for design purposes. Since then, we have had extensive involvement in the construction process, including the placement of hundreds of hammered concrete piles (up to 12 metres deep), services, carparking and kerbs in addition to the pool setout. Its interesting to note that modern pool construction methods utilise concrete floor slabs supported by the piles and walls made of braced stainless steel panels. You can walk around the walls beneath the tiled concourse level - it is not a massed concrete wall. The pools are geothermally heated via heat exchangers from 60 degrees artesian water.

The Centre is only weeks away from opening for the people of Traralgon and the wider Latrobe Valley community to enjoy.
